World Water Connection – International Water Symposium

On 21 & 22 November 2026 in Andermatt – the water castle of Europe, where most of Europe’s rivers have their source, will be the venue for the second international water symposium with the theme ‘Water & Health’.

In collaboration with the World Water Community, which connects, educates and participates in research and global cooperation in favour of healthy and vital water, we build bridges between science and life.  There are so many amazing insights & discoveries about water that are not yet part of common knowledge. It’s time to spread the word.

The Gotthard region is known as the water castle of Europe because most of Europe’s rivers spring here. Where else, would be the best place to organise an international water event?

Protected in the midst of mighty mountains, full of unique, huge crystals and shaped by geographical, geological, historical and cultural contexts. The meteorological watershed and the watershed of Europe, with sources of rivers flowing in all four directions. The Gotthard region stretches from Lucerne to Lugano and from Chur to Brig, the centre of Switzerland, the centre of Europe and the heart of the world.

The heart of the world deserves our attention and a central place in our perception. After all, we are all citizens of the world. The Gotthard and its water are looking forward to your visit.
